About the speaker

Darren Kerr is a business communication professional with over 20 years in the Events Industry. Over his career he has served as Creative Director, Executive Producer and Experiential Marketer for several top international event production companies as well as produced events for many Fortune 500s. He currently is Managing Director for Brisbane based Factor 168, Creative Event Company.

 

His award winning blog "Muse Factor 168" ( factor168.com/muse/ ) was named "Best Corporate Blog 2010" by #Eventprofs, a worldwide group of event professionals dedicated to social media for events.

 

Darren currently lives in Australia and works the world over delivering live communication programs, strategic marketing, brand experiences, & B2B/B2C events for a broad range of clients.

Robert Williams is an Executive Recruiter with over 10 years of specialty recruitment experience in the Media & Event industry for Asia.

Originally from the US, Robert has been in Hong Kong for 13 years and has made it his home. Prior to helping clients find the right talent and candidates find the right career opportunity, Robert was in conference sales in Hong Kong. His in-depth knowledge of the Events industry led him to established his own firm, "Asia Media Search". Event First Aid Certification Course

Overview

Throughout the world legislation has come into effect which states the number of first aiders or medical staff required on site during an event. These numbers can be reduced by having nominated first aiders on site.

 

The Program

 

The Emergency First Response programs are based on protocols set forth by International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). The programs follow the same patient care guidelines used by medical professionals but at the lay rescuer level.

 

The program consists of a combination of three stand-alone courses plus additional Event industry oriented skills:

 

Primary Care & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

 

Secondary Care(Assessment First Aid)

 

Additional skills appropriate to the Event Industry

 

 

Who Should Attend

 

The course is directed at all those in the Event and Hospitality Management Industry in Hong Kong and throughout the Region this includes: Producers, Event Managers, In-house Event Teams, Event Planners, Event Coordinators, Event Designers, Event Organizers, Charity Event Managers, Conference Managers, Riggers, Crew Chiefs, Event Support Staff and Students looking to work on events.

 

Every event team should have at least two qualified First Aiders on crew at any one time.

Dates are Flexible

(min 4 persons per course, max 6)Total course duration is approximately eight (8) hours.

Each course is : TWO X 4 hour sessions

Hk$2000 non Members

 

Once passed the course attendeesreceive certification.
